Background Information

The Public Service Commission (PSC) is responsible for the administration of the Federal Student Work Experience Program (FSWEP). As part of this program, it manages, among other things, a general inventory of students for which it manages the applications received as well as student referrals to federal organizations wishing to recruit students.

The aforementioned dataset is initially produced by the Data Services and Analysis Directorate (DSAD) on a monthly basis, and then configured by the Business Enablement team (part of the National Recruitment Directorate) for publication on the Open Government Portal (data relevant for public consumption only).

• Note (Official Language_e, Official Language_f): Because this field can be left blank by the manager submitting a request for referrals, the term “Not reported” appears in lieu of a blank field.
• Note (TITLE_e, TITLE_f): Because this is a non-standardized field in the system made available to managers for submitting a request, it is possible that some data is incorrect with respect to language as mandated by the data field.
