Administrative Burden Baseline: 2025
The government is building on the Paperwork Burden Reduction Initiative through its Red Tape Reduction Action Plan. Through the Administrative Burden Baseline, each department must count and report how many federal regulations place administrative burden on businesses.
All federal regulations that Public Services and Procurement Canada manages, and that create administrative burden on business, are listed in the following. The total 2025 count is 507.
No changes were made to the Controlled Goods Regulations nor the related forms during 2024. As a result, the Department’s administrative burden count remained unchanged at 507 for the period of July 1, 2024 to June 30, 2025.
| Title of the regulation | Statutory order and regulation number | 2025 count |
|---|---|---|
| Controlled Goods Regulations | 2001-32 | 507 |
| Total count | Not applicable | 507 |
