Project description
The rehabilitation of 24 Sussex Drive, the official residence of the Prime Minister of Canada, is an important national project that will modernize the property while respecting its historical significance. Public Services and Procurement Canada (PSPC) is leading the project, overseeing its planning, design and implementation to ensure the residence is secure, functional, sustainable and ready to serve future prime ministers.
Throughout the project, PSPC will maximize the use of Canadian materials, expertise, innovation and skilled labour wherever possible, supporting Canadian workers and businesses while showcasing Canadian excellence in design and construction.
A national design-build competition is currently underway to help inform the project's design and cost. The winning proposal is expected to be announced by Canada Day 2027. PSPC will continue to provide regular public updates as the project progresses.
