How to make a request under the Access to Information Act or Privacy Act
Send a request to the RCMP External Review Committee (ERC) under the Access to Information Act (ATI) or Privacy Act (PA) to:
- Obtain information about ERC (ATI)
- Obtain information that would have been created by ERC (ATI)
- Obtain your personal information held by ERC (PA)
ERC Findings and Recommendations (F&R) are considered to be part of the open court principle. As such they are available upon request and do not require a formal request under the Access to Information Act. To request a F&R please email the ERC.
Please note that the ERC is a separate organization from the RCMP. We do not have access to RCMP records, police / investigation reports or crash reports. Please visit the RCMP ATIPÂ page for information on submitting a request to the RCMP.
To request access to records through the Access to Information Act, there is a $5.00 CAD application fee. There is no charge to request access to your personal information under the Privacy Act.
To send your request you must be a Canadian citizen, a permanent resident of Canada, or an individual or corporation currently in Canada.
