Canada Research Coordinating Committee statement on the situation in Ukraine

As the Government of Canada has made clear, Canada condemns in the strongest possible terms Russia’s unjustifiable invasion of Ukraine. Canada remains committed to working with NATO allies and international partners on a comprehensive and coordinated response and has announced numerous measures to support Ukraine.

Canada is a leading member of a global scientific and scholarly community, united in pursuit of knowledge in an open and peaceful society. The Canada Research Coordinating Committee (CRCC) expresses its deep solidarity with the Ukrainian people threatened by the unconscionable Russian attack on their country. 

Canada has a long history of collaboration with international research partners, and the CRCC is closely assessing developments on how this situation may affect the research landscape at home and abroad. As leaders in the Canadian research community, we remain committed to working with national and international partners to explore further measures that Canada may introduce to support researchers and students impacted by the crisis in Ukraine.
