Help with view and manage operating names
1. Who can view, add, correct, and delete an operating name?
A business owner and an authorized representative with a level two authorization can view, add, correct, and delete an operating name. You can do this by selecting the "Manage operating names" link on the left side of the "My Business Account" welcome page.
An authorized representative with a level one authorization can view operating names for the business by selecting the "View operating names" link on the left side of the "My Business Account" welcome page.
2. How to add a new operating name.
A business owner and an authorized representative with a level two authorization can add a new operating name by selecting the "Add new operating name" link on the "Manage operating names" page. Follow steps 1 and 2 on the "Add new operating name" page. It is important to use proper punctuation.
3. How to correct an operating name.
A business owner and an authorized representative with a level two authorization can correct an operating name by selecting the "Correct" link directly below the specific operating name on the "Manage operating names" page. Follow steps 1 and 2 on the "Correct operating names" pages. Please note that you can make a correction to an operating name to fix a spelling error or to make a word change. You cannot use this function to delete an operating name or to create a new one. If you want to delete an operating name, please see question 4. "How to delete an operating name."
4. How to delete an operating name.
A business owner and an authorized representative with a level two authorization can delete an operating name by selecting the "Delete" link directly below the specific operating name on the "Manage operating names" page. If you select the "I agree" link on the "Delete operating name" screen, the operating name will be deleted from the business.
