- You will be able to change your home address to a date in the past as long as it is within the past 12 months.

Mailing address
This is the address where we send your mail. This may or may not be the same as your home address.
To update your mailing address, select Update Mailing Address to begin your change.
Your mailing address may also include your Notice of Assessment address or your Instalment notices address.
The Notice of Assessment address is where we mailed your [yyyy] income tax assessment.
This address appears if you have already asked us to send your Notice of Assessment and/or tax refund to an address other than your regular mailing address.
We send you a Notice of Assessment after we process your tax return. This Notice explains any corrections we made to your return, and it also tells you about any refund or any balance owing.
You cannot use this online service to change the mailing address for your next Notice of Assessment. Instead, follow these instructions:
- If you file your return electronically, include Form T183, Information Return for Electronic Filing of an Individual's Income Tax and Benefit Return.
- If you file your return on paper, include Form T1132, Alternative Address Authorization.
Your authorization will be in effect for one year only. You must file Form T183 or Form T1132 each time you file an income tax return. For more information, contact your local tax services office.
Your instalment notices address is where we mailed your instalment notices
This address appears if you have already asked that we send your instalment notices to an address other than your regular mailing address.
An "instalment notice" is a statement that shows the regular payments some people make to the CRA during the year. These payments cover the tax that the person would otherwise have to pay on April 30 of the following year.
You cannot use this online service to change the mailing address for your instalment notices.
For more information, see Paying Your Income Tax by Instalments on the CRA Web site or contact your local tax services office.
