Job Summary
Stream 1: Clerk, Technical Store
- Operate and maintain the Point of Sale System and the Registration System.
- Conduct acquisition of goods for stocked items in the Technical Store by researching products, soliciting competitive quotations and by preparing purchase orders.
- Receive goods by verifying and certifying invoices and maintaining records of purchases for audit purposes.
- Provide clients with alternative products available to meet their needs.
- Prepare monthly reports on purchases made by utilizing various databases and purchasing records etc.; prepare budget forecasts.
- Be responsible for inventory management by receiving goods, stocking shelves, and organizing the Store layout.
- Manage and operate the CSIS Benevolent Association.
Lifting of heavy items may be required (boxes of files, equipment, approximately 45 pounds/20 kg).
Stream 2: Officer, Logistics
- Monitor and keep logs of deliveries at the loading dock and warehouse. Review warehousing facilities for storage of goods by utilizing the full space to meet requirements.
- Inspect and verify goods received against invoices and databases. Barcode all assets and update the database on movement of operational parts and components.
- Evaluate methods of shipment for security measures and monitor the arrivals of all shipments leaving the building by tracking mechanisms.
- Maintain various tracking systems to monitor receiving, shipping, stock, moves, registration and transfers of commodities.
- Identify and classify items by determining appropriate coding for the inventory control system. Review assets for disposal by ensuring that items are actioned and inventory records are modified.
- Operate numerous specialized equipments within the warehouse and obtain certification to ensure safety.

Education
- Undergraduate degree and 2 years of experience, or
- College diploma and 4 years of experience, or
- High school diploma and 8 years of experience.
The undergraduate degree / college diploma must be obtained from an accredited learning institution recognized in Canada. If you completed a program outside of Canada you will be required to obtain proof of a Canadian equivalency at your expense from an accredited learning institution recognized in Canada.
Experience
Stream 1: Clerk, Technical Store
- Experience in inventory control while planning and organizing received goods
- Experience in purchasing as well as maintaining a budget according to policy and procedures
- Experience working in a client service delivery environment
Stream 2: Officer, Logistics
- Experience providing administrative support, including planning and coordinating multiple interrelated administrative activities
- Experience using a variety of software, including but not limited to: word processing, email, database and spreadsheet applications
