Indigenous Screen Office

Supporting Indigenous-led storytelling through permanent funding for the Indigenous Screen Office - Canada.ca

The Indigenous Screen Office (ISO) supports Indigenous screen storytellers, funds Indigenous stories on screens, and works to increase the representation of Indigenous peoples throughout the screen industries.

Launched in 2017, the ISO is an independent, Indigenous-led organization that receives support from Canadian Heritage to amplify Indigenous voices, promote the work of Indigenous creators and advance narrative sovereignty.

Funding program components

The ISO supports Indigenous creators and audiovisual professionals through two main programming components:

Story Fund

The Story Fund component supports Indigenous creators in Canada and professionals in the development, production, marketing and distribution of Canadian audiovisual content in any format for any distribution platform.

Sector Development

The Sector Development component supports projects that increase Indigenous participation, visibility and representation within the audiovisual sector.
