Students and graduates
At Shared Services Canada (SSC), we offer stimulating, challenging jobs and a respectful, inclusive work environment. Students and graduates can make a difference by contributing their knowledge and ideas.
You can take part in upcoming recruitment events to learn more about employment opportunities.
There are programs to help you move to a long-term or indeterminate position after graduation without going through a selection process, if you meet certain criteria. This is called student bridging.

Testimonials
Initially, what drew me to government work as a student was the opportunity to effect positive change within my community by influencing policy, enhancing aging infrastructure and contributing to transformation initiatives. What made me stay is quite different. Right now, I am staying at my job as a Support Analyst at SSC because I work on a great team. I feel like my career progress is supported, and I’m given the opportunity to learn and make mistakes. Sometimes that can be hard to find.
Zahra Mohamud
I started my career in the Government of Canada as a student 25 years ago. My goals and aspirations joining as a student were to build a career for myself one step at a time. I wanted the stability and peace of mind that the public service provided, while enjoying the dynamic learning opportunities and growth that came from being part of an organization that evolved very rapidly to meet Canadians’ needs and made a difference. Looking back, I learned throughout my career that you can have balance between your personal life and career and you can thrive and accomplish all kinds of goals, whether it’s on the personal side of things or career development.

Opportunities
In addition to work experience, students at SSC can take advantage of our development opportunities, such as joining the Agora Innovation Network. Agora fosters employee-driven innovation at SSC. It leads the Student Ideation Program and the Student Hub. The Hub is a community for students to connect at SSC, while addressing student needs and providing them with a wide range of opportunities, including student events and lunch and learns.
Agora is one of many networks that are offered to you when you work at SSC. Read more about our inclusive and diverse team and how SSC is dedicated to the highest standards of equality, non-discrimination, anti-racism, inclusion, dignity and respect.
