What program evaluation is

In the Evaluation Directorate, we ensure neutral and independent evaluations of the relevance , effectiveness and efficiency of SSC programs and we report to the President and to the Executive Oversight Board.

As an employee within the Evaluation Directorate, your work will have a real influence on the quality of programs and services offered to Canadians.

Evaluations serve to:

  • Inform decision making and confirm results that are achieved
  • Facilitate learning and innovation

  • Answer the question, “Are we doing the right things?”

Your tasks could include:

  • Drafting recommendations for senior management
  • Monitoring recommendations up to implementation
  • Act as a departmental advisor in performance management
