Institutional GBA+ Capacity

Governance structures

Shared Services Canada (SSC) has been increasingly integrating Gender Based Analysis+ (GBA+) into departmental decision-making processes to assess how diverse groups may experience policies, programs and initiatives. Once approved, the GBA+ Action Plan will serve as an integrative mechanism to encourage comprehensive GBA+ practices across the Department’s services and programs.

Human resources

Currently, the resources dedicated to GBA+ are in Human Resources and Workplace within the Corporate Services Branch. They work in close collaboration with the key stakeholders to continue promoting GBA+ awareness and its implementation across departmental programs and services.

In 2021-22, SSC anticipates the following initiatives will be taking place:

Reporting capacity and data

SSC will monitor progress through its current HR Dashboards. As the action plan rolls out, there will be a focus on the development of data collection and analysis tools to report information.

Highlights of GBA+ Results Reporting Capacity by Program

Shared Services Canada

As a centralized Information Technology (IT) service provider, primarily delivers services to public servants and to its partners across the federal public service.

Initial discussions have taken place with stakeholders within SSC regarding the development of data collection and analysis tools to report information on departmental programs, in order to measure future results. During 2021-22, additional work will be undertaken to improve data capabilities.
