How to apply to the Canadian Special Operations Forces Command
The Canadian Special Operations Forces Command (CANSOFCOM) can provide you with a unique and challenging work environment, whether it be in a support role or in one of the operator-focused roles.
Federal public servants and Canadian citizens.
Current federal public servants and eligible Canadian citizens may apply for certain public service positions within CANSOFCOM, in fields of expertise such as:
- Architecture, Engineering and Land Survey; (EN-ENG)
- Commerce and Purchasing; (PG)
- Comptrollership; (CT)
- Economics and Social Science Services; (EC)
- Education and Library science; (ED)
- Electronics; (EL)
- Health Services; (PS, NU,OP, SW, MD)
- Information Technology; (IT)
- Operational Services; (GL, GS)
- Program and Administrative Services; (AS, CR, IS) or
- Technical Services. (EG, GT)
For more information on the groups named above, please consult the corresponding Collective agreements for the public service - Canada.ca. For example, Health services include positions as psychologists (PS), nurses (NU), physiotherapists (OP), social workers (SW) and doctors (MD).

Canadian Armed Forces members
CANSOFCOM units recruit directly from the Canadian Armed Forces (CAF), Regular and Reserve Forces, for a variety of employment opportunities. The CANSOFCOM method of selection is dependent on the unit and the position sought.
CAF personnel joining CANSOFCOM must have completed their operationally functional point (OFP) in their current occupation and demonstrate that they have the special attributes and training desired to fill these demanding roles.
