GC Notify - Creating email message templates - Transcription
In other videos we showed you how to create a GC Notify account and configure your first service. Now, to start sending messages, you’ll need a message template.
In this tutorial, you’ll learn how to create and test email message templates with GC Notify.
First sign into your account.
New message templates can be created from the dashboard by clicking the “Create a template” button, or through the “Templates” tab.
For this tutorial, you will create your template from the “Templates” tab in the navigation menu.
Templates can be configured for email or text messages—to create an email template, select the “Email” option.
Name your template, enter a subject line and then include your message.
The message can be made from several Markdown formatting options such as adding a title to your message. Variables, such as a recipient’s first name and email, can also be inserted into the body of your message. For more info on how to use variables in your messages, you can access the Personalization guide.
Once you’re happy with your template, you can save it. You can now add recipients, but it’s a good idea to test the template first by sending it to yourself.
To do that, click “Send test message to yourself”
To make sure that the template works, enter your name in the text field provided.
You’ll receive a preview of your email before send-off. Click “Send”. Check your inbox for the email you sent to yourself.
You’ve now successfully created and tested your first GC Notify email template.
