Repealing the Protection of Personal Information Regulations

Description
The Protection of Personal Information Regulations are considered spent and should therefore be repealed. The regulations are no longer in use and have been entirely replaced by the Privacy Act and the Privacy Regulations.
Key objective(s)
To contribute to the modernization of regulations by ensuring that the regulated community is not required to devote resources to considering regulations that are no longer applicable.
To allow the public to see clearly what has happened to the regulation and trigger its removal from the Consolidated Index of Statutory Instruments, the databases maintained by Database Management Services and the collection of master copies maintained by the Legislative Editing Office.
This is the first year this initiative is being included in the Forward Regulatory Plan.
