Investment Management Communities: Professional development
The Investment Management Communities are for anyone who works in or is interested in working in one of the following communities:
- procurement
- materiel management
- real property
- project and programme management
People who work in any of these communities are called practitioners.
Professional development
If you are looking to join, or have recently joined, the procurement, materiel management, real property, or project and programme management communities, this page offers learning and mentoring opportunities to help expand your knowledge and skills, whether you are in the public service or not.
Community members have access to:
- leadership programs
- competency suites for each community that describe the required knowledge, skills, and abilities for jobs
- competencies needed in procurement (visit the procurement career path to learn more)
- competencies needed in materiel management (only available to Government of Canada employees)
- competencies needed in real property (only available to Government of Canada employees)
- competencies needed in project and programme management
- competency-based guides designed to help build and strengthen individuals’ proficiency levels for each of the core competencies
- workshops, learning events and a curriculum of classroom and online training available from the Canada School of Public Service
