Share your gallery!

Once you have created a local gallery, sharing and promoting it will ensure that audiences have the opportunity to view, learn from, and be inspired by the stories of women in your community.

Launch event

Consider having a celebration! Large or small, a local event is an opportunity to engage with members of your community – and beyond!

Invite some the women from your gallery to speak at a special event. Reach out to your local women’s groups, non-profit organizations and local media, as these individuals and organizations can help you promote the event and the gallery through their own networks.

Social media

Popular platforms like Facebook, Twitter and Instagram can help you reach a large audience, generate meaningful engagement, and allow audiences to provide feedback and suggest other women to feature.

When promoting your gallery, use the hashtag #womenofimpact to help audiences find and engage with your content.

Timing your promotional efforts to coincide with community events and commemorative dates presents opportunities to direct local, national and even global attention towards your gallery.

Some key dates include:

  • Women’s History Month in Canada in October
  • International Day of the Girl on October 11
  • Persons Day on October 18
  • Human Rights Day on December 10
  • International Women’s Day on March 8
  • International Youth Day on August 12
