Combat Training Centre
Headquartered at the 5th Canadian Division Support Base Gagetown in Oromocto, New Brunswick, the Combat Training Centre (CTC) is a formation of the Canadian Army Doctrine and Training Centre (CADTC).
The CTC’s mission is to support the readiness and modernization of the Canadian Armed Forces (CAF). It analyzes, develops, and delivers individual training to meet the operational requirements of both the Canadian Army (CA) and the CAF. By leveraging modern technologies and innovative learning methodologies, CTC provides realistic and relevant training that produces adaptive and agile soldiers and leaders prepared for current and future operating environments.
Approximately 2,000 Regular Force members, Primary Reservists, and civilian employees contribute to making the CTC a true learning organization. It offers relevant, credible, realistic, demanding, and safe training designed to meet the evolving needs of the CAF, with the goal of producing the next generation of high-readiness forces for a transformed and expanded Canadian Army.
From simulation systems to individual vehicle and weapon simulators, the CTC employs state-of-the-art technology to enhance both soldier and leadership training. Each year, more than 600 course serials are conducted, and up to 19,000 Regular and Reserve Force students are trained across the various CTC schools.
