CHIEF WARRANT OFFICER J.P. GAGNÉ, MMM, CD

Chief Warrant Officer (CWO) Pascal Gagné began his career in the Reserve Force with the Voltigeurs de Québec in 1993. In October 1996, he joined the ranks of the Royal 22e Regiment at CFB Valcartier.

Throughout his career, he served in successive positions at every rank level from corporal to chief warrant officer in the Royal 22e Regiment. He also worked at the Canadian Forces Leadership and Recruit School in Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu and was appointed to the position of Career Manager of Royal 22e Regiment, at Director General Military Careers, Ottawa.

CWO Gagné has deployed on six operations abroad: Bosnia in Operation HARMONY (1993 to 1994); Haiti during Operation CONSTABLE (1997); Kabul (2004) and Kandahar during Operation ATHENA (2007 and 2010); and finally deployed as the Battle Group Sergeant Major for the enhanced Forward Presence (eFP) BG, Operation REASSURANCE in Latvia.

Promoted to his current rank in August 2019, CWO Gagné was appointed Regimental Sergeant Major (RSM) of the 2nd Battalion (2019-2022). From 2022 - 2024, he was appointed as the Sergeant Major of the 5th Canadian Mechanized Brigade Group.

CWO Gagné was appointed in July 2024 as the Formation Sergeant Major (Army Training Sergeant Major) of The Canadian Army Doctrine and Training Center. As a secondary duty, in 2022, he was appointed in the role of regimental sergeant-major of the Royal 22e Regiment.
