After a lifetime of chronic skin issues caused by synthetic ingredients, Founder and CEO Leigh McFarlane was inspired to create simple, gluten-free, nut-free products that were either unscented or scented with only essential oils.
The Soap Company of Nova Scotia Ltd. produces high quality natural soaps, skin care and cleaning products for people with scent and/or chemical sensitivities. After a lifetime of chronic skin issues caused by synthetic ingredients, Founder and CEO Leigh McFarlane was inspired to create simple, gluten-free, nut-free products that were either unscented or scented with only essential oils. Through attending trade shows, building wholesale channels and growing the online store, the company saw opportunities for exporting its products, which were constrained by its existing facility and equipment. ACOA is helping the company increase its production and market capacity to support its growth over the next three to five years. This support has had an immediate impact on the company's recent success of almost doubling its listings with Sobeys to 34 products.
