“Canada 150 helps Canadians connect with the past and celebrate the future. Residents and visitors will benefit from these investments in the Shelburne County Arena, the Parr Street Park, the historic Mill Building and the River Hills Golf and Country Club. These attractions promote tourism while preserving our built heritage, and offer recreation opportunities that support healthy communities.”

     - Bernadette Jordan, Member of Parliament for South Shore-St. Margarets

“The Town of Shelburne welcomes the support provided by the Government of Canada to these vital projects in our community. Investments in the Shelburne County Arena, Parr Street Community Park and Shelburne’s Historic Waterfront build on the work of dedicated local volunteers and strengthen these community assets for the benefit of both residents and visitors alike.”

     - Karen Mattatall, Mayor, Town of Shelburne

“The Municipality of the District of Shelburne is extremely pleased that ACOA will be providing support to The Shelburne County Arena for its Phase 3 capital upgrades. The Shelburne County Arena Association and Arena Staff have worked hard to ensure that this important piece of local infrastructure continues to operate and be enjoyed by community members and organizations. With support from the Municipality, the Town of Shelburne and now ACOA, the planned upgrades for the Arena can move forward, which will ensure long term recreational, cultural and economic benefits for the community and surrounding areas.”

     - Penny Smith, Warden, Municipality of the District of Shelburne

“River Hills is extremely pleased to have received this Government of Canada support, which will supplement our fundraising efforts and allow us to repair and upgrade our existing clubhouse and cart paths. Countless volunteer hours contribute to the successful operation of an 18-hole golf course and facilities. This contribution will help Shelburne County continue to grow by providing enhanced recreational benefits for visitors and residents, both present and future, for many years to come.”
