Modern infrastructure and strong, sustainable communities are key to a thriving Atlantic Canadian economy. That is why the Government of Canada is investing to help the Town of Sunnyside create new economic opportunities and build healthy and resilient communities.

Federal government investment benefits region

Today, Churence Rogers, Member of Parliament for Bonavista–Burin–Trinity, announced a non-repayable investment of $400,000 for the Town of Sunnyside to help complete the construction of its new multi-purpose community centre. The announcement was made on behalf of the Honorable Mélanie Joly, Minister of Economic Development and Official Languages and Minister responsible for ACOA.

The modern 11,820 square foot centre will include a multi-purpose area for professional events and community programs, and approximately 5,000 square feet of space for business development. The centre will also generate employment opportunities and encourage commercial and industrial growth in the region.

Today’s announcement demonstrates the Government of Canada’s commitment to investing in strategic initiatives that build the economies of Atlantic Canadian communities.
