Useful tips for wrapping up your campaign

As we approach the end of the Campaign 2023, here are some key things to keep in mind:

  • Encourage people to give in a way that's convenient to them. While payroll deduction is the most effective method, you can also give through ePledge using Paypal or credit cards. You can also donate via cheque, paper pledge forms and over the phone until December 31.
  • Your donation matters.Even a small donation makes a difference. If every public servant donated $5 a paycheck, the GCWCC would raise over $35 million to support people in our communities across Canada!
  • There's still time to donate. Although the campaign closes on December 31, you can still donate through ePledge until March 31, 2024, and have it count towards your departmental total.

GivingTuesday – Thank you!

On November 28, we issued a #GivingTuesday call to action across departments, encouraging a final push for donations through the GCWCC.

Through your collective generosity, we raised $630,000 on this largest day of charitable giving. Thank you for your incredible generosity and support to the causes that matter to you.

What a great way to rise to the challenge!

2023 National Awards and Recognition – Nominations opening soon!

While the campaign is not over, it's time to start thinking about showing your gratitude to your many volunteers and team members who make the campaign possible. The Chair's Office team is getting ready to send you and email with all the details on how to nominate your volunteers. You can also visit Awards and Recognition in mid-December to find out more about Chair's Cup Award categories and how to submit the names of your Unsung Heroes for a special recognition.

December 8: Payroll deduction deadline

The deadline to make a donation by payroll deduction is December 8. Why choose payroll deductions? For as little as five dollars per pay, a donor can provide a meal for a homeless person or support individuals who have just been diagnosed with chronic illnesses. Enroll today to make an impact in your community!

December 31: Final day to receive a 2023 charitable tax receipt

As we look forward to the Winter Holiday, we're asking for your help to make a final appeal within your teams. If members are still considering giving, December 31 is their last chance to support their communities and get a charitable tax receipt for 2023. To support your communications efforts, the Charitable Giving Deadline for 2023 is now available.
