This course provides an understanding of specific topics related to the construction of ships. Topics covered in this course include:
- special shipboard terminology
- relating a ship's structure to static and dynamic stresses imposed on it
- sketching and describing the structural details of a ship's hull and superstructure
- the relationship of regulatory bodies in terms of safety and seaworthiness of a vessel
