This course trains navigation officer cadets to safely operate small craft on the water. Topics covered in this course include:
- how to:
- dock
- undock
- anchor and secure small craft
- read and interpret a nautical chart
- fueling systems
- manoeuvring of small craft, such as:
- barge
- outboards
- single screw
- launching and recovery of small craft on trailers
- performing routine maintenance on outboard motors
