From July 28 to August 6, 2023, the city of Kinshasa welcomed more than 3,000 participants from member states and governments of La Francophonie for the IX Games of La Francophonie.

The city of Kinshasa, capital of the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) and host city of the IX Games of La Francophonie, is the largest French-speaking city in the world, with more than 17 million habitants with French as their official language.

The IX Games of La Francophonie were held under the themes of equity, solidarity, excellence, responsibility and diversity.

Team Canada's artists and athletes

Canada was represented in 5 cultural competitions and 2 sport competitions at the IX Games of La Francophonie. Including the artists, athletes, coaches, medical team and mission staff, Team Canada was composed of 49 people.
