Highlighting Dance and Music in Saint-Sauveur

SAINT-SAUVEUR, Quebec, May 15, 2017

The Honourable Mélanie Joly, Minister of Canadian Heritage, today announced $65,000 in support for the 26th Festival des Arts de Saint-Sauveur. The event will be held from July 27 to August 6, 2017, in the village of Saint-Sauveur.

This funding, provided by the Government of Canada through the Canada Arts Presentation Fund, will help support artistic performances showcasing nationally and internationally renowned artists and creators.

Quick Facts

  • The 26th Festival des arts de Saint-Sauveur will begin with music by Canadian singer-songwriters Chantal Kreviazuk and Raine Maida. Once again this year, classical music lovers will be able to attend a concert by the Orchestre Métropolitain.

  • Festival visitors will enjoy many performances showcasing the talent of internationally renowned contemporary companies. Les Grands Ballets Canadiens will also be featured, presenting classical dance. In total, around 60 Canadian and international artists will perform.

  • Approximately 15,000 spectators are expected to attend shows indoors and on the Desjardins outdoor stage. Visitors will also be able to attend some free outdoor shows.
