Showcasing Our Creative Talent on the World Stage: The First Recipients of the New Creative Export Canada Program Are Announced

HALIFAX – Mr. Andy Fillmore, Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister of Canadian Heritage and Multiculturalism and Member of Parliament (Halifax), will be at the Discovery Centre in Halifax Wednesday to announce the first funding recipients of Creative Export Canada, a new funding program that aims to promote Canadian creative industries on the international stage. Mr. Fillmore will make the announcement on behalf of the Honourable Pablo Rodriguez, Minister of Canadian Heritage and Multiculturalism.

Selected from more than 100 applicants, the 20 recipients represent some of the best and brightest in Canada’s creative industries. They come from sectors such as music, video games, performing arts, visual art, design, interactive digital media and more.

As a recipient of the program, the Discovery Centre will highlight how important financial support like this is in the international success of its projects.
