Inter-Action: Multiculturalism Funding Program

With the Budget 2018 commitment to support initiatives that address the unique challenges faced by Black Canadian youth and to combat racism and discrimination, the Inter-Action: Multiculturalism Funding Program is now called the Community Support, Multiculturalism, and Anti-Racism Initiatives Program. This program now has three funding components: Projects, Events and Community Capacity Building. In addition, a separate Community Support for Black Canadian Youth initiative has just been established.

We are working to update this page with the new funding details. In the meantime, you may contact the Multiculturalism Program for more information.

The Inter-Action: Multiculturalism Funding Program supports the socio-economic integration of individuals and communities and helps them to contribute to building an integrated, socially cohesive society.

Program funding is delivered through two distinct components and the Paul Yuzyk Youth Initiative for Multiculturalism.

Inter-Action: Events component

The Events component provides funding to community-based events that foster one or more of the following:

  • Intercultural/interfaith understanding
  • Civic memory and pride
  • Respect for core democratic values

Inter-Action: Projects component

The Projects component provides funding for long-term, multi-year community development and engagement projects, with the aim of fostering an integrated, socially-cohesive society.
