Visit the Mackenzie King Estate, and let your students experience an historic site in Canada's Capital Region. At the Mackenzie King Estate, your students will learn about the political and private life of William Lyon Mackenzie King, Canada's longest-serving prime minister.

While visiting this beautiful estate in Gatineau Park, students can also explore the concept of natural spaces as places of reflection and inspiration.

Guided tour: Students can visit the Kingswood and Moorside cottages, King's favourite wooded trails, the flower gardens, and the Abbey Ruins.

Technology and Pollination at the Mackenzie King Estate

(Pilot program offered to students in Grades 2 to 4, from May to October)

Did you know that Prime Minister William Lyon Mackenzie King had a beautiful cottage in the Gatineau Hills? He spent almost 50 years beautifying his estate. This two-part activity allows students to discover how technology has changed since King lived here, and how his love of nature continues to play an important role today. Join our guide-interpreters in this pilot program to experience the beautiful Mackenzie King Estate in a new way. Duration: Approximately 90 minutes.
