Commissioner’s Directive (CD) 568-1 - Recording and Reporting of Security Incidents

Why was the policy changed?

The Preventive Security and Intelligence Branch has amended Annex C of CD 568-1- Recording and Reporting of Security Incidents to align with the reporting and recording requirements outlined in the new CD 574 - Sexual Coercion and Violence Framework.

This change will enhance the Service’s ability to report on incidents of sexual coercion and violence to internal and external stakeholders.

This change is effective immediately and will be incorporated into the forthcoming CD revisions.

How was it developed?

The Preventive Security and Intelligence Branch developed this interim policy bulletin in collaboration with the Security Operations Division and the Strategic Policy Division.

Who will be affected by the policy?

All staff responsible for reporting and recording security incidents as per CD 568-1.

Other Impacts?

To allow for Security Intelligence Officers/ Parole Officer Supervisors or delegate to record an allegation of sexual assault, a new incident sub-type “Sexual Assault Allegation” has been added to the Incident Report Module of the Offender Management System.
