• CD 566-12 – PERSONAL PROPERTY OF OFFENDERS

CD 566-12 has been amended to reflect that certain items will continue to be permitted. Other amendments are outlined below.

Other changes to CD 566-12 have been previously referenced in the Policy Bulletin #499.

The following items are allowable:

• bandannas (non-gang related);
• one piece stereo system (100 W total permitted but no condenser microphones, microphones, shortwave capability, or detachable speakers permitted);
• jewellery not exceeding a total of $300, medical bracelets approved by Health Services and religious, spiritual or cultural items may be allowed. The value of these items is not included in the $1,500;
• analog watches under the category of jewellery and included in the $300 limit; and
• sweatshirts.

The following amendments have been added:

Under Authorities, sections 3.1, 4(c) 4(d), 4(f), 4(g), 40(e), 40(i), 40(j) of the Corrections and Conditional Release Act (CCRA) and section 119 of the Corrections and Conditional Release Regulations (CCRR) have been added.

Under the National List of Personal Property for Men Inmates (Annex B), disposable razors are limited to 1 at maximum security institutions through a razor control process.
