Ombuds for workplace well-being
Correctional Service Canada’s (CSC's) Ombuds for Workplace Well-being is a confidential, informal, early resolution mechanism for all CSC employees seeking to resolve workplace issues. The ombuds’ office provides a safe space where employees at all levels are empowered to find solutions.
The ombuds provides:
- independent and impartial perspectives, as well as
- timely, generalized feedback to CSC leadership about the impact that organizational decision-making actions, and behaviours have on CSC employees
This, in turn, contributes to overall and ongoing efforts to improve CSC’s organizational culture.
Reporting directly to CSC’s Commissioner, the Ombuds for Workplace Well-being operates autonomously and has sole discretion on how or whether to act upon issues. In addition, the ombuds office supports employees at all levels on matters related to:
- values and ethics
- internal disclosure, and
- informal conflict resolution
All interactions are confidential and staff identities will never be shared without consent.
