Government of Canada launches pre-budget consultations to hear from Canadians

News release

December 12, 2023 - Ottawa, Ontario - Department of Finance Canada

Today, the Government of Canada is launching pre-budget consultations to hear from Canadians about what matters most to them in advance of Budget 2024—the next step in the federal government’s economic plan.

The government’s economic plan is building more homes, faster, making life more affordable, and creating good jobs for Canadians from coast to coast to coast. The suggestions received from Canadians will ensure that the government can address the challenges that matter most to Canadians and build an economy that works for everyone.

Starting today, Canadians can participate in pre-budget consultations by sharing their ideas and priorities at LetsTalkBudget24.ca until February 9, 2024.

In the weeks to come, the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance, Chrystia Freeland, will be meeting with Canadians across the country as part of government-wide pre-budget consultations.
