  1. A general election will be held in Saskatchewan with ordinary polling day on 28 Oct 24
  2. Members of the Canadian armed forces (CAF) and their dependants vote pursuant to ordinary civilian voting rules as contained in the elections act, 1996, revised statutes of Saskatchewan, chapter e-6.01 (elections act), as amended. In order to be eligible to vote under this act, a person must:
    1. On polling day be a Canadian citizen,
    2. On polling day be at least 18 years of age, and
    3. Be ordinarily resident in the province of Saskatchewan as described in section 18.1 of the election act, 1996.
  3. No enumeration will be conducted to register voters. Members and their dependants can register as voters at https://www.elections.sk.ca/voters/registration/
  4. Members and their dependants who expect for any reason to be unable to vote at their polling place on polling day may vote at advanced polls. Advanced polls will be open from 22 Oct 24 to 26 Oct 24 inclusively
  5. members and their dependants who will not be able to vote on both polling day and at advanced polls in the constituency where they are eligible to vote may use the provincial special rules for voting by mail. In summary, an applicant may vote if he or she:
    1. Makes an application (form e-127mail) to elections Saskatchewan by mail at 301-3303 Hillsdale Street, Regina, SK S4S 6W9 or at www.elections.sk.ca
    2. Ensures that the application is accompanied by a photocopy or electronic copy of documents confirming their name, place of ordinary residence and their signature (i.e., driver s license, passport, utility bill, etc.), and
    3. Ensures that the application is received by online application, mail or by personal delivery at elections Saskatchewan on or before 19 Oct 24
  6. Applicants must submit their applications using form E-127mail, titled quote vote by mail application unquote or online at www.elections.sk.ca this form may be obtained from elections Saskatchewan. The form may be sent by facsimile or other means of electronic transmission. Applicants who meet the requirements will be issued a vote by mail ballot kit with instructions on how to complete and return the ballot. Voters are required to return their ballot to elections Saskatchewan, if personally delivered, on or before 2000 hr C.S.T. 28 Oct 24 and if mailed, postmarked on or before 2000 hr C.S.T. 28 Oct 24 and received by 1200 hr C.S.T. 7 Nov 24
  7. CAF members shall be given sufficient time to vote. Section 60 of the elections act provides that qualified voters are entitled to three consecutive hours for the purpose of voting
  8. provincial legislation does not prohibit the sale of alcoholic beverages on polling day in Saskatchewan. Accordingly, the sale of alcoholic beverages in messes, canteens and other institutes is not prohibited on civilian polling day
  9. political activities on defence establishments and personal political activities of members of the CAF are governed by paras 1 and 2 of section 2 of ref A and by ref b. Political advertising in unofficial service newspapers is prohibited in accordance with para 10.b. Of ref C.   10. All unit commanding officers are to ensure the widest distribution of this message including its republication in routine orders.
  11. It is the personal responsibility of members of the CAF and their dependants to ensure that they are registered on the voter's list if they qualify. The elections act provides, however, that a person entitled to vote who is not on the voter's list may, at the polling place, make a voter s declaration and be allowed to vote.   12.
