Annex L: Form of Direction and Undertaking
(Subsection 159.4(1) of the National Defence Act)

Part I: Direction
It is directed that [service number, rank (if applicable) and full name of person in custody] be released from custody upon signing the undertaking in Part 2. It is further directed that this form be presented to the person in custody without delay.

- remain under military authority;
- report at [specified times] to [specified military authority];

- abstain from communicating with [witness or specified person];
- refrain from going to [specify place]; and
- [other reasonable conditions as are specified].
