New Canadian Forces Honours Policy Manual
January 22, 2020 - Defence Stories
The Canadian Forces Honours Policy Manual is the main reference for all relevant information regarding honours and awards for individuals and groups (other than Battle Honours).
The Canadian Forces Honours Policy Manual is a new document that covers all the policies and regulations that govern honours and awards for the Canadian Armed Forces (CAF).
It is designed to be the main reference for all relevant information regarding honours and awards for individuals and groups (other than Battle Honours). It includes orders, decorations, medals, commendations, foreign honours, memorials mementoes as well as scripts and scrolls.
CAF leaders will have a better understanding of the recognition tools at their disposal to ensure their members are recognized in a timely manner for their service, achievements, and sacrifices.
Clerks and other administrators will find important information regarding the rules and processes related to honours administration in the CAF.
The new manual will be updated regularly to reflect ongoing policy changes such as the changes to medals criteria recently announced in CANFORGEN 001/20.
