Defence O365

April 28, 2020 – Defence Stories

ADM(IM) is rolling out Defence O365, a Microsoft Office 365 platform, for the Defence Team. This platform will complement the existing T-DVPNI system to improve the remote work experience and enable all DND/CAF personnel to virtually connect with their teams from anywhere.

Benefits to the Defence Team

With Defence O365, all personnel will have access to the following tools for up to Protected A information: Microsoft Teams, OneDrive, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Planner, One Note, and Outlook. These tools support instant messaging, email, video conferencing and online meetings, document management, and more. The suite of tools are available from both personal and work devices.

Rollout

If you haven’t already, you will receive an onboarding email from your L1 representative with instructions to create an account along with contact information to reach support from for your organization’s Power Users. Careful! Don’t fall for phishing emails posing as DND/CAF messages on this subject; your onboarding email will come from a trusted source such as a supervisor with a forces.gc.ca email address.

Support and training

Once you’ve received your onboarding email, created your account and logged in at Defenceo365.forces.gc.ca, you will find a support portal (link accessible only on the National Defence network) to help get you set up, answer questions, and provide self-guided training resources.

For those still waiting to be onboarded, visit the Defence O365 page on Canada.ca for more information and updates as they become available. Or, explore online support and training through the Microsoft Office Support site. Please note however, not all tools listed on the site are available on Defence O365.
