LifeSpeak’s COVID-19 Expert Blog Series #2: Managing difficult emotions in times of stress

Navigating the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic can be very difficult, but there are services and resources available that can help you – such as “LifeSpeak.” 

This is a web-based service that offers anonymous access to hundreds of short videos. They feature leading experts discussing everyday issues that affect all of us from time to time.

LifeSpeak is available to both Civilian and Military Defence Team Members.

To log-in:

  • Visit lifespeak.com and select “Group Account”
  • Click either Canadian Armed Forces or Department of National Defence (Civilian)
  • Input client password: Canada

Once you’re logged-in, we suggest LifeSpeak’s COVID-19 Expert Blog series, which is full of resources to help manage your day-to-day life during these uncertain times.

This week’s featured Blog is “Managing difficult emotions in times of stress.” This is a short-piece written by certified Professional Development and Co-Active Coach, Jenny Tryanski.

The article demonstrates how giving ourselves the space to be with the difficult emotions that the pandemic is stirring up, is actually a positive and can help foster honest discussion between peers.

Health Canada – Employee Assistance Services (EAS) for Civilians

Canadian Forces Member Assistance Program (CFMAP) - Members of the Canadian Armed Forces (CAF), Veterans, and their families can access free, confidential counseling, 24 hours a day, seven days a week at 1-800-268-7708 or TDD 1-800-567-5803 (hearing impaired).

LifeSpeak for Military members and Civilians — As mentioned above, LifeSpeak is a web-based service that offers free confidential access to hundreds of short videos by experts on everyday issues.
