Employees are encouraged to use vacation leave over the summer months

Employees are encouraged to use vacation leave over the summer months to refresh and recharge.

Scheduling time away from work is important for the wellbeing of all employees. Where possible, employees are encouraged to use vacation leave over the summer months to refresh and recharge while adhering to public health guidance to help minimize their risk of exposure and limit the spread of COVID-19.

“Other Leave with Pay”, Code 699, was put in place on an exceptional basis during the COVID-19 pandemic to address specific issues faced by employees as the federal and provincial governments implemented measures to prevent the spread of infection. This leave is not to be used to replaced vacation leave. The existing guidance regarding employee leave policies related to COVID-19 remains in place, with an update expected from the Office of the Chief Human Resources Officer (OCHRO).
