As NDWCC Defence Team Champion, I’d like to express my gratitude to all of you who have given so generously. As of November 26, we’d raised over $1.6 million despite the challenges of COVID-19 – well done! Thank you all for truly embodying the NDWCC 2020 slogan, “Apart but together at heart.”
I’m reaching out to you once again because December 1 is GivingTuesday, the global day of giving. Founded eight years ago, GivingTuesday is a counterpoint to the commercialism of Black Friday.
It is a partnership of individuals, businesses, and non-profit organizations who use social media to encourage donations of both money and time to make positive change in Canadian communities.
In the same spirit, I’d like to encourage my fellow Defence Team members who perhaps haven’t yet made an NDWCC donation to do so on this very meaningful day. If you have donated already, I hope you’ll consider digging a little deeper to support the amazing organizations who are the beneficiaries. Remember that no donation is too small. Every dollar counts!
There are still many ways to give, all of them easy and convenient. You can donate online, or via the FlipGive app, which connects you with retailers who will donate a portion of your purchases.
You can also help through events like the Cooking Class / Demo for NDWCC, and Military Personnel Command’s NDWCC Virtual Craft Sale, which is ongoing until December 18. Visit the NDWCC website for all the details on how to give and participate.
Thank you again for helping to make NDWCC 2020 such a success. Let’s do even better with a GivingTuesday push.
