I cannot say enough good things about the Military Spouse Employment Initiative (MSEI). It has been an easy way to gain employment. I applied to the job ad in the spring of 2020 and by mid-summer I received a call inviting me to attend an online interview for a Health and Safety Officer job in Ottawa. The application process was really easy. I answered questions about my career interests and experience, which took a little bit of time, but overall, entering and uploading information was a breeze.

All correspondence from the staffing team at DND was clear and included all pertinent information. It was a great experience!

My spouse Roel and I have been together for 10 years. Before we met, I did not have much experience with or knowledge about the military. But, since we have been together, he has been overseas on deployment twice: once to the UK and then to Kuwait. As a military spouse I have become accustom to Roel being away half of the time.

My job as a part time Health and Safety Officer at DND has also allowed me to continue to work part time and maintain my license as a Regulated Pharmacy Technician.

The MSEI has given me the opportunity to work with a new organization and a great team. I am able to work from home during the pandemic, which gives me peace of mind. I encourage all military spouses to check out the MSEI and apply.
