New Video: What the New Workplace Harassment and Violence Prevention regulations mean for you

Have you heard of the new workplace harassment and violence prevention regulations? Do you know how these regulations affect you? These regulations came into effect on January 1st, 2021 and apply to public servants and to CAF members involved in an occurrence with a public service employee, or any person granted access to the workplace.
They are the first steps to building a safer, more inclusive work environment for all. Under these regulations, the definition of workplace harassment and violence to include a full spectrum of unacceptable behaviours, ranging from teasing and bullying, to sexual harassment and physical violence. In addition, the process for reporting harassment and violence in the workplace has been simplified, and a new, more effective approach to help reach a resolution was put in place.

Everyone has a role in creating a safe and respectful workplace. Have you taken the new training on the prevention of harassment and violence in the workplace? This training is mandatory for all employees, supervisors/managers and CAF members. The training must be completed by December 31, 2021. The training will help Defence Team members better understand how they can help prevent harassment and violence and create a safe and respectful work environment for everyone.
