Connect with peers affected by sexual misconduct and military sexual trauma

The Sexual Misconduct Support and Resource Centre (SMSRC), in partnership with Veterans Affairs Canada (VAC), is hosting two types of peer support groups for people affected by sexual misconduct and military sexual trauma (MST) this winter.
Services are available virtually to those 18 years and older who are either current or former:
- CAF members/Veterans
- DND public service employees
- Cadets
- Junior Canadian Rangers
Ten group sessions hosted by a trained peer supporter with lived experience and a mental health professional. Sessions are guided by educational materials that cover topics such as trauma, moral injury, coping and self-care, and are supported by peer group discussion.
Dates:
- English: Tuesdays from January 21 to March 25, 2025; 5:00 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. EST
- French: Tuesdays from January 21 to March 25, 2025; 5:00 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. EST
Register by January 13, 2025
Eight group sessions hosted by two trained peer supporters with lived experience. This group offers a place where peers can come together, find companionship, and talk about topics related to their shared experiences. Discussions are guided by participants’ needs and interests as they relate to their lived experiences.
Dates:
- English: Wednesdays from February 5 to March 27, 2025; 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. EST
- English: Thursdays from February 6 to March 27, 2025; 12:30 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. EST
- French: Thursdays from February 6 to March 27, 2025; 5:00 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. EST
Register by January 27, 2025
