Leaders, facilitators and ethics coordinators

All members of the Defence Team will participate in the Conversations on Defence Ethics (CODE), a professional development training event developed by the Defence Ethics Programme (DEP) and delivered by the Level One organizations across the Department of National Defence (DND) and the Canadian Armed Forces (CAF).

The CODE is an opportunity to engage in open discussions with peers on current issues to better understand and achieve objectives on Defence ethics.

Leaders, facilitators and ethics coordinators are responsible to plan, coordinate and deliver the CODE for their organizations. A Letter of Intent, providing planning guidance, and a comprehensive Facilitators Guide, designed to assist facilitators with all levels of experience, will be distributed accordingly by their organization’s Level One Ethics Coordinator.

The Facilitators Guide contains information on facilitation, robust guided discussion points for each scenario and a wealth of useful resources and references.

In order to ensure the integrity, impact and successful delivery of these ethical discussions, the Facilitators Guide is not to be distributed outside of those who are planning and delivering the CODE.

For further information, please contact your L1 Ethics Coordinator or the Defence Ethics Programme.
