How to get to Saint-Jean Garrison

There are 2 methods to get to Saint-Jean Garrison, commercial transportation or personal vehicle. Your method of travel must be coordinated with your local Recruiting Centre or your home unit before you depart for training.

If you’re arriving by shuttle bus, staff on the bus will provide direction to you. If you’re arriving by personal transport or by taxi cab, you’ll report to the School Coordination Center at door 154 of the Mega building at the Canadian Forces Leadership and Recruit School (CFLRS).

Commercial transport

Montreal-Trudeau Airport

You’re required to take a shuttle bus to Saint-Jean Garrison if you’re arriving by plane, bus or train. The shuttle bus runs on Saturdays from Montreal-Trudeau Airport. The assembly point is near the domestic baggage carousel where an instructor will be waiting just outside the baggage collection point at:

If you live in the Montreal area, you can travel by personal means to Montreal-Trudeau Airport to take the shuttle. It’s important that you notify your Recruiting Center of your travel intentions.

If the shuttle or instructor is not present at the designated hours, contact CFLRS Duty Staff at 450-358-7099 ext. 7229 for further instructions.

Bus

If you arrive at the Berri-UQUAM bus depot between 5 am to 2:30 pm on Saturday, use the aiport shuttle service to get to the assembly point at Montreal-Trudeau airport. The airport shuttle service runs every 20 minutes and will cost you $10 which is payable in cash.

Train

If you arrive at the Dorval train station between 5 am and 3 pm on Saturday, use the Via AirConnect shuttle service to get to the assembly point at the airport. The airport shuttle is parked in front of the train station and runs to the airport on a regular basis.

Personal vehicle and taxi

If you arrive at the airport or the bus station before 5 am or after 3 pm, you’re allowed to travel to CFLRS by taxi. The cost will be $115 and is refundable with proof of payment.

From Montreal
  • Cross the Champlain Bridge
  • Follow directions to Highway 10 East
  • Take exit #22 for Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu (Route 35 Sud)
  • Once on Route 35, take exit Pierre-Caisse
  • At the lights, turn left on Rue Moreau
  • Keep right and turn right onto Rue Pierre-Caisse
  • At the lights, turn left on Grand-Bernier
  • Drive for approximately 4 km. The Saint-Jean Garrison will be located on your left after Rue Des Carrière
  • Once at the gate, ask the Commissionaire for directions to the School Coordination Centre (SCC)
From Quebec City
  • Take highway 20 West (Trans-Canada)
  • Take Highway 30 West
  • Take Highway 10 East
  • Take exit #22 for Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu (Route 35 Sud)
  • Once on Route 35, take exit Pierre-Caisse
  • At the lights, turn left on Rue Moreau
  • Keep right and turn right onto Rue Pierre-Caisse
  • At the lights, turn left on Grand-Bernier
  • Drive for approximately 4 km. The Saint-Jean Garrison will be located on your left after Rue Des Carrières
  • Once at the gate, ask the Commissionaire for directions to the School Coordination Centre (SCC)
From Gatineau/Ottawa
  • Take Highway 417 East, which becomes Highway 40 East at the Quebec border
  • Take exit #32 – Autoroute 540/Autoroute20/ON-401/Salaberry de Valleyfield/Toronto
  • Continue on Highway 30 East (toll road)
  • Take Highway 10 East
  • Take exit #22 for Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu (Route 35 Sud)
  • Once on Route 35, take exit Pierre-Caisse
  • At the lights, turn left on Rue Moreau
  • Keep right and turn right onto Rue Pierre-Caisse

  • Once on Route 35, take exit Pierre-Caisse
  • At the lights, turn left on Rue Moreau
