Canadian Forces School of Meteorology

About the school

The Canadian Forces School of Meteorology (CFS Met), located in Winnipeg, MB, is the Canadian Armed Forces (CAF) training establishment for meteorological technicians, and provides basic and advanced courses in meteorology.

CFS Met qualifies as many as 200 meteorological technicians annually. It delivers operationally-focused and scientifically current content through 4 residential training courses as well as training delivered at the Joint Meteorological Centre (JMC) in Gagetown, NB, and the coastal Meteorology and Oceanographic (METOC) centres in Halifax, NS, and Esquimalt, BC.
