Awards
Chief Warrant Officer Kevin West trophy
Created in honor of Chief Warrant Officer (CWO) Kevin West, who served as CWO of the Canadian Armed Forces (CAF) from 2013 to 2018, this award recognizes excellence in performance.
Presented annually, it recognizes the member who, through dedication and professionalism, embodies the College's core values and makes an outstanding contribution to the leadership development of non-commissioned members. It also highlights the importance of mentoring, integrity, and knowledge transfer, which are essential pillars of the Non-Commissioned Member Leadership College's (NCMLC) mission: to train, inspire, and support tomorrow's leaders.
In the Advanced leadership programme, the candidates analyze a CAF institutional issue and submit a recommendations report to their chain of command. Three finalists then present their work to a panel chaired by the CAF CWO. The CWO Dan Brissette Award recognizes academic excellence and exemplary understanding of institutional leadership, while highlighting the NCMLC’s expertise and encouraging dialogue between non-commissioned officers.
This award honours CWO Dan Brissette, MMM, MSM, CD, a former CANSOFCOM Command CWO and a committed and innovative leader who served for more than 30 years in the CAF.
