Military housing in Ottawa
In order to mitigate the impacts of COVID-19, the Canadian Forces Housing Agency (CFHA) is asking that all occupants requiring housing services to please contact CFHA by phone or by email, rather than attending the Housing Service Centre (HSC) in person. Due to the recent situation, some delays might occur.
Please visit our Housing locations for your HSC contact information.
Effective immediately, while a Canadian Armed Forces member is on a Destination Inspection Trip (DIT) (has accepted an offer of an Residential Housing Unit (RHU)), they will be allowed access in order to view their allocated housing unit, provided that the unit is vacant and there is no active work being undertaken in the RHU by our contractors. The member/occupant will be required to wear a mask and disposable gloves while visiting the unit as a public health and safety measure. For members on a Housing Hunting Trip (HHT), physical access to RHUs will not be permitted. The only exception to this would be if a member, as part of their HHT, signs an offer with CFHA for an RHU. In these situations, we will allow the member to access to their designated RHU with the same conditions as specified above for an RHU visit while on a DIT. An applicant may arrange to have or designate a local representative to visit their allocated unit on their behalf. The applicant shall provide the Housing Services Centre with an email providing this authorization.
The Housing Services Centre Ottawa office is located in the National Capital, not far from the centre of the city. Below you will find general information about Department of National Defence housing in Ottawa. Please contact the Ottawa Housing Services Centre for availability and for more information.
