- Clear and concise communication is key to upholding the Cadets and Junior Canadian Rangers Group (CJCR Gp) commitment to community engagement and to providing timely service to parents, guardians, and prospective cadets. The CJCR Gp will meet specific response standards following the receipt of registration requests submitted through the Online Registration Tool (ORT).
- This service standard aims to uphold our commitment to community engagement and to providing timely service to parents, guardians, and prospective cadets. CJCR Gp strives to ensure that each inquiry receives the attention it deserves. By adhering to these service standards, we aim to build trust, loyalty, and long-lasting relationships with our communities, and encourage growth across our programs.
- Between 1 September to 31 May of each Training Year, corps/squadron staff are required to provide a response to an ORT submission within three training nights, or approximately 21 days. This response may be through a phone call or an email, and will provide the parents/guardians with the following information:
- next steps in the registration process, including required supporting documentation; and
- next opportunity for the prospective cadet and their parent/guardian to attend the corps/squadron including an appropriate arrival time.
- In circumstances where the prospective cadet and their parent/guardian attend a corps/squadron parade night and receive the information in person before the corps/squadron has had an opportunity to provide a response; no further email or phone response is required.
- If a corps/squadron is unable to accept a registration corps/squadron staff will provide the prospective cadet and their parent/guardians with:
- details as to why they are unable to accept the registration request at that time; and
- information about other corps/squadrons within the immediate area, if appropriate.
- For the 2025/2026 training year, it is anticipated that the ORT will be integrated into Fortress allowing corps/squadron staff to better track applications and reduce manual processes that are currently required for cadet registration. The intent is to reduce administrative work and allow CJCR Gp to improve or meet CJCR Gp service standards.
- In accordance with reference A, corps/squadrons are reminded to encourage all applicants to submit their registration requests through the ORT. Should a paper copy be specifically requested, corps/squadrons may provide a printed version of the ORT which can be downloaded from the Canada.ca website.
- Questions regarding the registration service standards can be directed to the Regional Cadet Support Unit (RCSU) J1 sections.
